Friday is my day off, and we just love it. We get to spend a lot of time together doing errands, eating lunch out, and a variety of other trivial things that no one would care about.
Of course, since we homeschool, we also get to do school. Jenny is doing an amazing job teaching Micah and Ellie. She does a ton of creative things with them to help make learning fun. We also really enjoy it because spending a lot of time with the kids gives us opportunities to teach things as we live life, instead of just having to rely on book learning.
This week, Ellie read a story from one of her books about birds, so Jenny decided that she and the kids should do a little “puppet” bird theater with that story tonight. The atmosphere was electric as the curtain went up…(it was electric because I had two flashes, a digital camera, and a video camera all poised and ready.) The crowd was enthusiastic…(actually, I was the crowd, and I was kinda tired.)

At one point during the performance, the press corp shot some backstage portraits…

Then, quick as it started, it was over. As the thunderous applause reverberated through the hall…(I clapped as much as I could without waking Anna up.) the actors took their bows and received the adulation of the appreciative audience.

The actors recuperated from their performance with a casual game of dominoes.

Of course, as you’ve already figured out, I got to play with the kids AND mess around with my camera and one of my eBay flashes I got via UPS today. Oh, yeah. That’s a win-win situation!

It is good to know that there are “dramatic” things going on over at the Cummins’ house. BTW – please tell Jenny she is beautifuo – inside and out!
